In this hot summer evening with 37°C/99°F, we walk from Agria, a charming village near Volos, to Soutrali beach, a popular local destination for a swim just before sunset. The sky is adorned with beautiful hues of orange, red, and blue as night begins to fall. Our stroll starts along the seaside, where we see many cafes and restaurants, known locally as tsipouradika, just before they are filled with people ready to enjoy the evening. They serve small dishes (mezedes) accompanied by tsipouro, a famous Greek spirit. At 03:20, we meet a group of beautiful ducks swimming gracefully in the sea, searching for pieces of bread thrown by restaurant visitors. On our right, the Agios Georgios church of Agria stands prominently, adding a touch of history to our journey. We continue past the bustling cafes and restaurants, immersing ourselves in the lively atmosphere. Passing a quaint fishing harbor and marina, we enter a more serene part of the promenade, featuring romantic cafes. Along the way, we pause occasionally to admire the sea and the breathtaking colors of the twilight sky. At 23:50, we see the Valis Resort & Spa, a very popular 5-star hotel, on our left. At 36:30, we approach Soutrali beach, where many people are enjoying a late swim and relaxing at the cafes and restaurants along the seaside. At the end of the beach, we see the crystal clear waters gently touching the brown sand, with families enjoying the refreshing swim and playing.
