One of the reasons Illustrator is my favorite design program–beyond being able to create artwork one time and export it out to multiple file formats for either print or web (which is MAJOR, btw!)–is because I can hide, show and use the pasteboard, or scratch area outside of the canvas/artboard, to brainstorm ideas before bringing them into my layout! And in this video, I show you this the that 99% of designers do: they use this area to experiment and create artwork without disrupting their main layout inside the artboard. Now I usually clean up this playground area before handing over files to a client or the printer, but I show you how you can keep the artwork you created outside the artboard and export just the visible layout for any use. I also show you how you can hide the artboard so this area is a big white canvas on which to explore ideas! ********************************************* Grab my FREE ultimate guide to graphic file formats here: http://graphicsgrrrl.com/graphic-file... ********************************************* Get my FREE printable with built-in bleed, trim and safety guides: http://graphicsgrrrl.com/pagesetup/ ********************************************* Get a full list of my favorite Illustrator shortcuts here for FREE: http://graphicsgrrrl.com/top10illustr... ********************************************* HIT THE BELL to be notified when new tutorials are uploaded and SUBSCRIBE TO MY CHANNEL! ********************************************* I've been an art director for over 20 years and a graphics instructor for over 15.
