So this trip was my first time fishing in Mexican waters. This trip was on October-14-2020. It took us about 4 hours to reach the first fishing spot. It started out good with tons of action, from yellowtail to dorado to tuna. As we were done with the first spot we headed deeper into Mexican waters to find another school of fish. The second spot had tons of skip jack tuna and dorado. I didn't do much recording there cause I was just enjoying the fishing. The third spot we went to was were I met my first ever serious saltwater fishing challenge. We pulled up to the spot and the captain said that the fish were about 300 feet deep. I dropped my 2oz jig and waited for about 2 minutes for it to reach the location I thought would be about 300ft. Before I knew it I was on. The big fish were biting down there. I had hooked on my first monster tuna(at least for me), this thing seriously humbled me and opened my eyes about saltwater fishing. You never know what you'll hook into out there. Overall it was a very good trip. If you're ever interested in going out on The San Diego then I recommend coming mentally prepared for a long day of fishing, it really takes a toll on you. Tight lines everyone and thank you for watching. Fishing equipment I used on this trip were the Penn Battle2 rod n reel combo, medium heavy, with 25lb monofilament. The other one was the Daiwa lexxa 400 with a Daiwa sealine medium heavy action, line is 40lb powerpro with a top shot of about 50 feet of seaguar 20lb fluorocarbon. for the flyline setup which is my battle 2 I used live bait, ringed 2/0 and 3/0 gamakatsu hooks. the jigs I used that i had the most success with were the Ahi jigs in glow white and the live deception ahi jigs as well in sardine color. Shout out to the crew of The San Diego, you all did an awesome job!!!!!
