mrfett plays/reviews his Gibson Kalamazoo 1982 Leo's Les Paul through a cranked Marshall. These were one of several "Dealer Reissues" done before Gibson had gotten into the reissue game on it's own. Leo's Les Pauls were special instruments made to the specifications of Rich Bandoni of Leo's Music in Oakland, CA. Rich had a '59 'Burst and a Tokai Les Paul Reborn that he brought to Gibson and left with them for a few weeks so that they could get the details right. These are solid body guitars (not chambered, not weight relieved, not swiss cheesed, SOLID). This guitar was from the first batch made in Kalamazoo. There was a second run made in Nashville that do not have serial numbers stamped in the control cavity (like this one does). Some more information about this particular guitar can be found here: http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/norli... The guitar as played in the video (with the stock tailpiece) weighs 9.28lbs. The Leo's Les Paul in the video is being played through a Marshall JTM-1C miked with a Shure SM-57 going into an Mbox Pro and recorded in Logic. No additional processing has been done to the guitar track. In the intro, a Phoenix Custom Electronics Little Red Rocket and a TC Electronic Ditto X2 are in the signal chain in front of the amp. For the second part of the video the guitar is plugged directly into the amp.
