Wildflowers in Murren & Gimmelwald, Switzerland on June 6, 2025

Much planning went into our trip to Switzerland in June of 2025. We stayed for the entire month to allow us maximum time for countless mountain excursions mostly on days with good weather forecasts. Ten days were spent in Lauterbrunnen. This time in early June was best for waterfalls at full force, snow on the mountain tops and wildflowers near their peak. The beginning of this video shows the cable car from Stechelberg to Murren, the steepest in the world, with fantastic views of Murrenbach Falls, Switzerland’s tallest. This was actually shot the next day on June 7, while everything else was shot on June 6. On June 6 we took the cable car from Lauterbrunnen to Grutschalp & then the train to Murren, but I have no footage of this since the conditions were not ideal for shooting video. Spending early June in the Berner Oberland was near ideal, but the cog-rail train to Schynige Platte was not yet opened for the season and I had so looked forward to the walk along the ridge trail high above Lake Brienz.
