From: • The Beatles Bootlegs (disc 7: 1968 - demos) A lot is from the Esher Demos found in the White Album Deluxe Edition. but this is just too good not to share as widely as possible (at least until the copyright police decide to enforce their copyrights)! Description from the source video above (where can I find the other 9 discs!): 1958-1970, 10 Discs, 246 Tracks, 697 Minutes For my Mom's 60th birthday (and because I wanted this to exist), I created a best-of Beatles bootleg set that goes chronologically through their career and includes every bootleg worthy of admiration by fans of The Beatles (there are tens of thousands of Beatles bootlegs, many of which are not even worth listening to). This set culls through all the official releases (Anthology, the Super Deluxe reissues, Live at the BBC) and unofficial releases (Artifacts, Complete Home Recordings, The Red Light's On, etc). In general, each disc represents one year of their career, and usually places all the studio recordings together, followed by demos and interviews and then finally ends with their Christmas Record for that year. There are some live songs, but I mostly avoided them because the quality is almost always subpar. Disc 7 covers the various demos recorded in 1968. 1. Back in the USSR 0:00 2. Dear Prudence 2:59 3. Glass Onion 7:46 4. The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill 9:42 5. While My Guitar Gently Weeps 12:22 6. Happiness is a Warm Gun 15:04 7. I'm So Tired 17:00 8. Blackbird 20:11 9. Piggies 22:45 10. Rocky Raccoon 24:51 11. Julia 27:35 12. Yer Blues 31:31 13. Mother Nature's Son 35:03 14. Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey 37:28 15. Sexy Sadie 40:31 Recorded in late May at John's home at Kenwood and (predominately) George's home at Kinfauns in Esher, The Beatles laid down demonstrations of the material they had written while in Rishikesh. Of the thirty songs released on The White Album (AKA The Beatles), 19 were demoed during these sessions, and 17 of those demos are featured here. The tracklist is reordered to follow the White Albums' sequence. Dear Prudence has a spoken word bit at the end explaining the inspiration for the song, and Glass Onion has some interesting ad-libbing from John. Both Happiness Is A Warm Gun and I'm So Tired have musical segments that do not appear on the official releases. Julia was the original opening track for the bootleg versions (known as either the Kinfauns or Esher demos). 16. Helter Skelter 42:58 There is no Kinfauns demo of Helter Skelter, but this obscure song is an acoustic version performed solo by Paul. 17. Revolution 45:28 18. Honey Pie 49:35 George Harrison seemed to prefer the acoustic version of Revolution, but for some reason it was not included on Anthology. Honey Pie, an equally great acoustic performance, was. 19. Child of Nature 51:35 20. Sour Milk Sea 54:13 21. Junk 57:57 22. Circles 1:00:33 23. Not Guilty 1:02:50 24. What's The New Mary Jane 1:05:56 25. Gone Tomorrow Here Today 1:08:38 26. A Case of the Blues 1:11:58 27. Spiritual Regeneration 1:14:51 28. Everyone Had a Hard Year 1:16:31 Tracks 19-28 are songs not released on The White Album. Track 19-24 are from the same tapes as the other Kinfauns Demos and 25-28 are from various other sources. Child of Nature ended up becoming Jealous Guy. Sour Milk Sea, written by George, was given to Jackie Lomax. Junk was released on Paul's album McCartney. Gone Tomorrow, Here Today was recorded the same time as the acoustic Helter Skelter. Spiritual Regeneration was recorded on March 15th in Rishikesh with Mike Love of The Beach Boys. Everyone Had A Hard Year would later be incorporated into Let It Be's I Got A Feeling. #Beatles #TheBeatles #WhiteAlbum #JohnLennon #PaulMcCartney #RingoStarr #GeirgeHarrison
