Old-School Forestry with Tractor and Winch

Today was one of those rare days in the forest where everything just worked. At minus 15 degrees Celsius, with perfect winter conditions, my father and my brothers helped bring heavy spruce timber down to the farm using the tractor, chainsaws, and a winch. Cold air, sharp tools, and calm, experienced hands — this is when forestry feels right. My father had full control of the tractor, steady and precise like always. My brothers handled the timber and chainsaw work with skill and patience. I’m still surprised by how much I learn every time we’re out here together. There are small details, quiet techniques, and hard-earned experience behind every decision — and in the forest, mistakes are not an option. This video is part 1, showing what we managed to accomplish over two weekends in the forest.
