The 4'8" Drifter shaped by David Vernor was conceived for medium sized surf in that in between size of what I would normally ride a traditional longboard in and a small, thick fish type board. I love riding stand up bodyboard so this design in my mind was blend of that and small wave boards I have been working on for decades with shapers Doc Lausch, Xanadu, Marco Pacheco, Leon Gough and Magic Hands Bando. The dimensions on this board are 2.25 X 17.24 X 19.75 X 16.08 and I weigh 155 lbs or 70.3 kilos. Davis Vernor applied concepts he has been working on for over 20 years combining a bonzer type bottom with an integrated caron fiber rod system and custom designed hourglass foil fins made by Naked Viking Surf to realize the Drifter model, which in my opinion is a revolutionary small wave board. In this video he breaks down the theory behind it and how the Magic Twin fins by NVS have enabled this board to fly at it's fullest potential.
