Fingers crossed I didn't forget anyone! Conference realignment has created a mess of things in college sports, especially with college football, as prolific programs like the Oklahoma Sooners or Oregon Ducks have thrown away their histories to join conferences with the Alabama Crimson Tide or Ohio State Buckeyes. In a competition---and compensation---sense, this move makes perfect sense. But with how spread out conferences are becoming, and how bloated their membership has become, some college sports fans are asking themselves if there is a better way. Well sure there is. But it's not happening. Here's my (probably bad) ideas, anyway! I've studied conferences and their programs for a little over a year and a half now, reading up on their histories, rivalries, and unique geographic identities. Each of those three things are things that I've decided to highlight within these conferences---starting out here, with the mid-major conferences, and aligning them to where I think their members fit best, both in terms of historical rivalries and geography. For this particular video, I'm starting with conferences of 10 or 11 teams each.
