'Intimate Confessions of a Chinese Courtesan' is a Shaw Brothers movie from 1972 directed by Chor Yuen. 'Intimate Confessions of a Chinese Courtesan' stars Lily Ho, Betty Pei Ti and Yueh Hua and was recently released on Blu-ray by Arrow Video as part of their ShawScope Volume 3 Collection. 'Intimate Confessions of a Chinese Courtesan' was mostly a drama with a few sword fighting scenes. The main girl was kidnapped and forced into prostitution. The story showed her life from the start of her servitude to her final revenge. The costumes and characters were colorful and visually interesting, but the action wasn’t very exciting. The sword fights didn’t have much flair. It was also a bit hard to tell some of the female leads apart since they looked similar. The subject was clearly meant to make the audience uncomfortable, and it mostly did. It was a bit hard to believe the main character learned swordplay so quickly.
