In this video, we address a question from Baron, who holds Security Plus and CISA Plus certifications and aspires to become a security architect in a company that utilizes Azure. Baron is seeking recommendations on which certifications to pursue next. Mario provides some valuable insights on the topic. Considering the growing trend of cloud-based solutions, Mario suggests that getting into the Azure space would be beneficial for a security architect. To explore Azure certifications, he recommends visiting getcloudskills.com, a website by Scott Duffy that provides detailed information on various Azure certifications. There are certifications available for cryptography, active directory, cloud overview, security architecture, and more. For Azure security architecture, Mario mentions AZ 500 as a possible certification to pursue. However, he suggests starting with AZ 900, an introductory certification, if you are new to Azure and need to build a foundation. Once comfortable with Azure, transitioning to AZ 500 for security architecture would be a logical progression. On the vendor-neutral side, Mario recommends obtaining the CASP (Certified Advanced Security Practitioner) certification. Since Baron already holds Security Plus and CISA Plus, earning CASP would automatically renew those certifications every three years. CASP is a top-level technical security engineer and security architect certification that covers domains like security architecture, engineering, operations, and GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance). By pursuing CASP, Baron can gain an in-depth understanding of security architecture and strengthen his credentials as a security architect. Moreover, the certification offers the added benefit of renewing existing CompTIA certifications during the renewal period. Thank you for watching this video!
