The MEPI Alumni Local Chapter in Iraq has created a short film entitled, "My Ability, not my Disability: Stories from Mr. Ahmed Al-Ghazy and Dr. Sadiq Hussein", to advocate for the social inclusion and application of equal rights for Persons with Disabilities in Iraq as part of the Break Barriers, Open Doors social media advocacy campaign. "My Ability, not my Disability" is a short film sponsored by the MEPI Alumni Local Chapter in Iraq collaboration with the Iraqi Alliance of Disabilities Organization (IADO) that tells the story of two successful Persons with Disabilities in Iraq. Both individuals share their thoughts and ideas on the progress of the disabled community in Iraq and what inspired them to achieve real success in their lives. Mr. Ahmed Alghazy makes beautiful art out of found objects, adding a little beauty to the world from trash that most of us discard on the street. Dr. Sadiq Hussien, who is a professor at Al-Mostansiriah University lost his eyesight at a young age, but continued studying till he got the PhD in Arabic Language and is now a supervisor for PhD Students and level 4 students. Both Mr. Ahmed Al-Ghazy and Dr. Sadiq Hussien are members of IADO, which raises awareness on and advocates for the rights of Persons with Disabilities. The MEPI Alumni Local Chapter in Iraq supports raising awareness on this community's legal rights and their equal and fair participation in society.
