The process is fairly simple but very important, to say the least. following these simple steps help seat the piston and make sure the motor adapts accordingly. Not following these instructions could lead to piston or motor failure and could void your warranty. Here are the steps in perfect sequence: Step 1: Idle the engine in gear for 15 minutes or longer, keep the RPMs low. Step 2: Run the boat for one hour and forty-five minutes at 3000 RPMs. Do not exceed 3000. Step 3: Run the boat at 4000 RPMs for one hour. Do not exceed the 4000 RPMs. Step 4: Operate the boat normally but do not run at full RPMs for longer than five minutes. It's best to fluctuate the RPMs and do this for the next seven hours. That is all there is to properly break in your new Suzuki.
