Kamesho Kurukuru Sushi is an insanely popular conveyer belt sushi restaurant located in Beppu, a hot spring town in the Kyushu Islands of Western Japan. Famous for its fat and juicy slices of fish, this restaurant is fully packed even on weekdays with hungry locals and tourists alike. We came on a Sunday during lunchtime, and waited 2 hours before we were seated. Despite the long wait, the sushi lived up to its name. We were served big and yummy slices of fresh salmon, fatty tuna and shrimp. Definitely some of the best sushi we have had to date in Japan! A plate of sushi (2 pieces) will set you back 300-400 yen, a little more expensive than your typical conveyer belt sushi but absolutely worth it! We paid a bit below 6,000 yen for 2 people but we were absolutely stuffed by the end. Show up a little earlier than usual to grab seats but expect to wait for amazing sushi!
