English Electric (EE) built KTM Class 22, together with AEI and parts from Metcam. This loco is powered by the EE8CSVT MkIII engine, which is why British railway enthusiasts will immediately recognise its chugging as being similar to that of the BR Class 20, which sports the EE8SVT MkII engine. This is among last few of KTM's Class 22 in action in 2008. By 2010 only two of the original 40 as brought in about 40 years earlier would remain in service, and before the end of that year the two would be sold off to a railway construction company, EMRAIL, with a third non-active loco sold to the same and then revived. 22134 now resides by the old Johor Bahru railway station as part of a railway museum exhibit, while 22127 is working with EMRAIL on the Ipoh - Padang Besar Double Tracking and Electrification project in the North of Malaya. 22109 and 22115, together with 22127, are currently owned by EMRAIL and working on the same project as mentioned above. 22125 is on exhibit at The Galleria in Taiping, Perak, while 22131 is on plinth in Tampin, Negeri Sembilan.
