From the clatter of the wooden roller coaster to the eerie melodies of Louie the Clown, it was a place where memories were made—and for me, where a foundation for life was built. ​In this video, I take you back to the 'Glory Days' of Joyland. I share my memories of earning free admission with good grades, the thrills of the Tilt-A-Whirl, and the bittersweet transition of becoming a young mother and sharing the park with my own children. ​But this story is also deeply personal. Years after Joyland closed and its famous coaster began to crumble, I returned to its ruins to find a way to express the 'roller coaster' of grief after losing my daughter, Bekah.
