Welcome back to the channel! A couple of weeks on from my trip to South East London and we are out and about again on our annual visit to FEBEX, held at the Eggars School in Alton, Hampshire. This is a reasonable sub 2 hour drive from home for me - quicker than the back and forth train journey would be. A slightly quieter and more space show than usual (a good thing) it still attracted some high quality layouts, many not seen before at this event. I really like the way that the organisers seem to try to get a club layout from a distant part of the UK to feature. There were the usual traders in attendance. Anyway, here is a list of the layouts on show: Tony's Forest - 7mm narrow gauge, but in O-14 not the usual O-16.5. Some great little cameos to be seen. Fairden - OO gauge branch terminus Fareford Depot - OO gauge diesel and electric motive power depot. Fence Houses NCB - OO gauge NCB / BR exchange sidings. Hungerford - a large roundy roundy of the Berkshire towns railway from years gone by, all modelled in 4mm scale, EM gauge. Superb detailing. Lulworth Castle - OO gauge LSWR / SR branch terminus. Santa Maria - 3.5mm HOm layout of a through station on the Swiss RhB. Wiveliscombe - OO gauge layout of the station on the GWR route from Taunton to Barnstaple. This layout won the best in show award. Express Daisy Sidings - a micro shunting puzzle type layout in 4mm scale, EM gauge. Reminiscent of the former milk depot at Morden, South London. Ashwood End - an N gauge layout built in a small square for a Romsey Model Railway club competition. Bramble Lock - another small N gauge layout, with masses of fine details. Broken Creek - 3.5mm HO layout, of a truncated American freight line, serving a couple of freight depots. Fareport - An O gauge diesel depot, featuring great observational modelling - the trackside detritus really sets the scene on this layout. Hinksey yard - N gauge representation of the Network Rail Virtual Quarry and Yard, located South of Oxford. Stedham Mill - 3mm TT - the real deal! Model of a LBSC / LSWR junction station. Tan y Bwlch - a 4mm scale OO9 layout of the the Ffestiniog Railway station in North Wales. Finally, Canute Road Quay - a micro shunting layout in 4mm OO gauge, based on the Southern region. I hope you enjoy the video. Another good show to attend, with some nice layouts and plenty of opportunity to spend and buy.
