A Sunrise Walk in Footsteps of Our Ancestors

Welcome to another walk. This time welcome to the beautiful Norfolk coastline, where I start off at Walcott village and finish at the coastal village of Happisburgh. A shortish walk of about 2miles but a lot of interest along the way and at Happisburgh beach itself. We (My wife was with me) timed this right as we arrived just as the sun rose and the tide was out. It is certainly up there with one of my favourite walks I have done so if you’re ever in the area I would highly recommend it. It’s so sad to see the coastal erosion happening , especially as this was a childhood holiday destination for my wife’s family for many, many years, and the difference according to her is remarkable. Let’s hope something can be done before more houses and then eventually, the town gets taken by the sea. This video is in memory of my wife’s father, Niall McLoughlin, who passed away in 2021, who loved coming to Happisburgh with his wife and four children on their summer holidays.
