They share common values, history, language, culture, and a border. Before they were one country, along with Zimbabwe, under the federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland. Malawi is approximately 118,484 sq. km while Zambia is 752,618 sq. km, making Zambia 535% larger than Malawi. Meanwhile the population of Malawi is approximately 20.4 million people whilst Zambia is 19.6 million people. Malawi's capital is Lilongwe whilst Zambia's capital is Lusaka.
