Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker in “Star Wars,” returns to Clairemont neighborhood where he lived in early 1960s to unveil the Honorary Mark Hamill Drive sign atop Castleton Drive at Mount Abernathy Avenue intersection on July 30, 2017 — a day also designated as “Mark Hamill Day” by the City of San Diego. Lisa Remillard of KUSI’s “Good Morning San Diego” emcees event in which San Diego Councilman Chris Cate and Clairemont Town Council President Eden Yaege introduce Hamill to a crowd estimated at 1,000 people. Video includes his thank-you remarks and a Q&A based on questions submitted via Twitter. Residents are featured in video, including Beverly Hunter, who recalls playing with Hamill’s sister Jeanie.
