Bank Robber Trying To Escape Police Falls Through Ceiling and into Recycling Bin

(Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) * Huron, Ohio — On Wednesday, July 26, 2023, around 2:12 a.m., the Huron Police Department (HPD) received an alarm from the VacationLand Federal Credit Union branch at University Drive East. While scoping out the building, the officers heard noises coming from a roof area, hovering over the drive-thru. Upon inspection, they found a blue recycling bin positioned just under an access door in the middle of the drive-thru lane. Seconds later, a duffle bag drops from the ceiling to the ground before the suspect comes down, landing inside a recycle bin - while police officers wait for him. Officers were able to pull the suspect out of the bin and take him into custody. He was later identified as 27-year-old Tristan Heidl of Huron, Ohio. According to police, the backpack contained several construction tools. Heidl was charged with breaking and entering, possession of criminal tools and safecracking.
