Now the GT6 Mk2 project's wing is all fitted up, it's time to do the sill. But before that the lower a-post needs fitting. There was a near disaster here as despite the bracing, and the roof, the upper a-post dropped down... Fortunately with the assistance of jacks and ratchet straps we were able to save it! Which meant the sill, and wing, could be fully welded on, and the outside of the car is very nearly complete! 00:00 Intro 01:06 Bracing the upper a-post 01:53 Old a-post cut off - new one test fitted 02:46 Original floor to a-post join details 03:55 Upper a-post cleaned - patch panel adjustments 04:59 A-post panel test fit 07:03 Door and sill test fit 08:01 I realise the a-post dropped... 08:45 Trolley jack to the rescue! 10:32 Test fitting the door around the jack! 12:39 Phew, looking good again 13:48 A-post welded in 14:42 Bulkhead repairs, with shrinker stretcher 19:39 Sill end cap fitting 22:15 Sill test fit, with end cap 23:52 Panels painted and ready to weld! 24:15 Actually, I missed the b-post lip... 25:20 OK, now we're ready to weld 27:38 Special spot weld electrodes / jaws for wheelarch lips 28:48 Wing and sill welded on 30:14 Finding the rear of the wing is not straight 31:03 Dealing with oil canning on the bulkhead 34:34 Outro Music Credits: Track: Strutting, Artist: Mr Smith, Source: https://freemusicarchive.org/, Licence: CCBY Track: Rat Rod, Artist: Mr Smith, Source: https://freemusicarchive.org/, Licence: CCBY Classic car restoration full episodes Vintage car restoration Restoration garage full episodes
