Full film to be posted in the Fall Trailer : Regional Realities, English Speakers in the Outaouais: Community Vitality and Challenges in Quebec, is a 30-minute documentary, and part of an ongoing series highlighting the lives of English speakers in the regions of Quebec. Created using video ethnography and research-creation methods, the series sheds light on local institutions and the everyday realities of these communities and aims to inform both public understanding and policy. Filmed in Wakefield, Aylmer and Bristol, this documentary explores the everyday challenges English-speaking communities face in maintaining their vitality, from limited access to health, social and municipal services in English to transportation barriers and the growing needs of an aging population. It also examines how recent legislation, such as Bills 40 and 96, could shape the future of English-language education access in this part of Quebec. Directed by Anita Aloisio. Produced by QUESCREN.
