IEEE Bangalore Section SCT is pleased to bring to you Season 2 of SCT Learning Series; with the second episode on Microsoft Excel. The speaker provided an overview and list of basic Excel functions and formulae. It included RANDBETWEEN(bottom, top) for generating random numbers, SUM(),CHOOSE(), MIN(),MAX() and AVG(). Then the speaker used the Harry Potter Dataset and taught the participants to analyse the data. He taught the participants about cleaning and formatting of data and about removal of data duplication.He explained to us about conditional formatting and taught the handling of multiple sheets. He introduced us to data visualisation tools like Charts.He also gave a demonstration of using the filter tool. He also gave us insights about the Pivot Table consisting of consolidated and organised data for a quick data analysis. He concluded the session by talking about Advanced Analysis and shared a roadmap to the domain of Data Analysis.
