READ DESCRIPTION! This is a segmented TAS for entertainment purposes. The existing Spyro 2 Any% TAS will be 10 years old this year and I wanted to see what kind of time modern strats could achieve. The main complication - and I'd say inherent demotivator - of such a project is that the 7:32 TAS is performed on PSXjin whilst a modern TAS would use Bizhawk. The downside here is that Bizhawk loads are a lot slower than PSXjin which means the final time is barely any quicker. The final time ended up being almost exactly 8s quicker which isn't particularly representative of the improvement. Knowing these downsides, I was not prepared to put in the insane amount of hours it would take to do Gulp and Ripto again but I did want to see an improved TAS. After some debating, I decided to segment a TAS using existing sections since that felt better than nothing. A new Glimmer, Summer Forest and Autumn Plains have been TASed. Crush, Gulp, Winter Tundra and Ripto have been copied from the 14 Talisman TAS. This does create a potential situation where RNG may be impossible to align and also the gems and sparx values not making sense. This doesn't affect any part of the run. Remember this is just for entertainment purposes. I wanna give some credit to Waffle who showed you can get a double sheep squeeze proxy in Summer Forest and also for TASing the double frog proxy in AP which worked out slightly faster than what I was able to get. The non load adjusted version can be viewed here: • [TAS] Spyro 2 - Any% in 6:25.9 but really it isn't too representative of much. Also for fun watch the non load adjusted version side by side with the 7:42 TAS. It's fairly interesting: https://viewsync.net/watch?v=ShX7jcx9... Final time is 5:42.0, roughly 44s quicker than the non load adjusted version. It's not perfect, but it'll do
