We visited an abandoned camping site that once served as a peaceful retreat for travelers with campers and tents. The area was well-equipped, featuring a large open space for camping, several residential buildings, bathrooms, showers, and a shared kitchen where guests could cook and socialize. For many years, it was a lively place filled with laughter, conversations, and the sounds of nature. However, in 2019, the site was shut down, and since then, it has slowly fallen into decay. As we explored the area, we noticed how nature had begun reclaiming the land. Grass and weeds grew through cracks in the pavement, windows were broken, and graffiti covered many of the walls. The buildings, once welcoming and full of life, now stood silent and abandoned. Inside, we found remnants of the past—old furniture, rusted kitchen equipment, and shower cabins that once required a 10kr fee to use. On the upper floor of one of the buildings, we discovered a sauna. It was small and dark, but we could imagine how people once sat there, relaxing after a long day of traveling. Now, it was just another forgotten room in a forgotten place. Despite the eerie atmosphere, one thing stood out—signs that the site was still being used, but not by campers. It was clear that homeless people had taken refuge here, turning the abandoned buildings into temporary shelters. Clothes, mattresses, and personal belongings were scattered around, proof that someone had been living there. Fortunately, we didn’t encounter anyone during our visit, but the thought of unknowingly stepping into someone’s home added an unsettling feeling to our exploration. Walking through the empty site, we couldn’t help but wonder about the stories hidden within its walls. What had happened to the people who once came here for vacations? Why was the site abandoned? And how long would it remain in this forgotten state before nature, or time, erased it completely? 1. Music from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!): https://uppbeat.io/t/danijel-zambo/la...
