Charlie Chaplin - One Of A Kind - A Remixed Rub-A-Dub Version Excursion

Kicking off with dancehall deejay Charlie Chaplin's 'One Of A Kind', released as a single and featuring on the 1983 Trojan LP 'Chaplin Chant'. 'Crisis' by the great Earl 16, was released on his 1982 LP 'Julia' on the Wambesi label. 'Oh Happy Day' by Junior Reid was released as a single on the Dove label in 1983. 'Version' featured on the b-side and was mixed by Scientist - one of the few occasions he varied the delay timing during a mix, resulting in a crazily pitched rhythm section. All tracks were recorded at Channel One, mixed at Harry J's by Scientist, backed by Roots Radics and produced by Roy Cousins. These tracks have been Intricately remixed by Toby Ranks with additional vocal snippets, drum licks, guitars and effects in the style of the time, creating unique versions of 40 year old rub-a-dub classics.
