This a presentation of a homemade mechanical TV (view in details and when operating) with the following features: Nipkow's disc Picture start (Vsync) positionning system 60 lines or 30 lines (versatile hardware, just a disc change) Frame rate: 12.5fps (composite synchro) First test shown in Black and white Addition of a SECAM-like color system + tests in color Aspect ratio of 4:3 with a small disc, by using an anamorphic lens in 60-line mode Same aspect ratio without anamorphic lens in 30-line mode (initial width is the double) Detailed project documents and sources: https://sourceforge.net/projects/nbtv... The generated pictures were captured and post-processed to avoid the "black bar" effects due to interference of TV scanning with camera capture rate. (This gives a better and more realistic picture overview but also impairs picture sharpness). See other captures taken from the same device with different camera settings: • Pictures on a mechanical color TV (NBTV) Note about the mispositioning of lines (due to hole location errors) which appears to be worst in 60-line mode when color is added: In black and white a correction is implemented in the video signal to compensate the horizontal offsets (this is done by software). In color there is not so much freedom for doing that because the SECAM-like system alternatively shares the blue and the red signals for two consecutive lines. FUTURE PLAN: Change the disc!!!
