A Google Maps Pin Led Us on a Remarkable Adventure

A single Google Maps pin pulled us off the path and into one of our most unexpected forest adventures yet 🌲 While browsing Google Maps, we noticed something unusual — a pin marked “Pet Cemetery”, hidden deep in King’s Wood. No information, no marked trails… just a dot in the middle of the forest. So, we decided to find it. What followed was a proper adventure: wandering through wild, overgrown woodland, relying on GPS, getting slightly lost, laughing a lot, and discovering a small, forgotten pet cemetery with just seven graves — some dating back to the 1930s and 1940s. This isn’t a paranormal or spooky exploration — although a few moments did look a little eerie 😄 — it’s simply a curious, honest day out in nature. Along the way we found an abandoned shed, a hidden map sign swallowed by bushes, and plenty of muddy puddles that Molly very much approved of. No rush, no drama — just a real outdoor adventure, a bit of mystery, and a reminder that sometimes the best walks start with curiosity rather than a plan.
