Peter Soulsby launches Leicester's Economic Action Plan 2012-20

Peter Soulsby, City Mayor, introduces Leicester's Economic Action Plan - his ambitious set of proposals to secure the economic future of the city until 2020. With our city partners, he's aiming to: • secure £60 million investment for jobs and growth in the city • create four Leicester Business Investment Areas • create and safeguard 8,500 jobs • create 800 new apprenticeship/work placements and internship opportunities • create 800 new businesses • support 1,800 businesses. The Economic Action Plan has five key themes, which are: 1) Leicester To Work 2) Enterprising Leicester 3) Thriving Leicester 4) Growing City 5) Confident City These five themes have 20 supporting priorities, which will help us achieve our economic vision for Leicester from now until 2020.
