Providing the drummer a means to contribute melodically while keeping time, the Techno kit features tuned synths, electronic basses and effects that can be distributed across drum pad surfaces and rims. Bouncy kicks, squishy 909 snares, CR78 and other electronic cymbal sounds complete the kit and form the time-keeping components. A creative variation can be achieved by assigning a snare sound on the “foot” position of the hi-hat pedal. In this manner, a kick/snare back-beat can be played with the feet while allowing the hands freedom to produce melodies. Booming synthetic kicks, toms and paper-thin snares can be matched with wispy cymbals and crystalline hi-hats to produce the ultimate groove box.
