If you enjoy my videos and want to support my work, you can buy me a coffee here: https://buymeacoffee.com/simoneklov This is part five of my 2023 Continental Divide Trail thru-hike. In this episode, we head back out into the snow—again. 2023 was a high snow year on the CDT, and Colorado was still buried in deep snow well into late June. What follows is one of the toughest pushes of the entire trail. To make it from Wolf Creek Pass to Spring Creek Pass before running out of food, we have to hike farther each day while dealing with soft snow, collapsing steps, long climbs, and slow progress. This episode shows exactly what CDT conditions looked like in late June during a high snow year. You’ll see the unnamed switchback peak at mile 886, the Knife Edge traverse, daily route-finding challenges, high-alpine ridges still covered in snow, and the reality of trying to move efficiently when every step disappears beneath you. If you’re interested in thru-hiking, CDT planning, ultralight backpacking, or what it's really like to cross Colorado's high country in a high snow year, this episode is for you. 🥾 Thru-hike: Continental Divide Trail 2023 ❄️ Section: Southern Colorado / San Juan Mountains 🎒 The Gear I Carried on Trail: https://lighterpack.com/r/cy9cn5 If you're enjoying my CDT documentary series, subscribe and turn on notifications so you don't miss the next episode!
