This is my review and play test of the new Yamaha 8315G Flugelhorn. A brand new design based on the traditional smaller bore size preferred by players around the world. The YFH8315G is a fresh and unique addition to the Yamaha flugelhorn lineup designed by Yamaha in conjunction with Wayne Bergeron and Jeremy Pelt with a new trigger system which is more ergonomic and will accommodate a wider range of hand sizes and also a newly designed lead pipe. Specifications Key Bb Bell Material 2 piece gold brass Bell Diameter 151.8mm (6 inches) Bore size 0.413 note the 631 is 0.433 Available in silver plate or laquer. Please note currently the Silver plated version may have the serial 8315G marked and not 8315GS but this is subject to change. The silver plate version has a gold brass bell but is still finished in silver plate The instrument also features a new leadpipe design, with the outer leadpipe area and a new connection brace between the leadpipe and the valve casing. Monel pistons are resistant to corrosion and are an ideal choice for professional flugelhorn pistons which must retain precise fit and smooth action over many years. I give my opinion of this flugelhorn compared to the Yamaha 631 and the 8310Z Bobby Shew model. I take a detailed look around this Flugelhorn. Please hit like on the video and share it around as there seems to be a lack of reviews currently on this instrument. Any questions ask away below and I will do my best to help. Happy Playing!
