Here is a complete tutorial on my recent Saura artwork on rath yaatra. Rath Yaatra also called the festival of chariots is celebrated every year at the Puri Jagannath temple in Orissa. It’s celebrated with a lot of pomp and fanfare and the main deity form the temple lord Jagannath, balram and subhadra are taken around the town on elaborately decorated chariots.I have used Saura artform to represent this festival. Saura painting is a style of wall mural paintings associated with the Saura tribals of the state of Odisha in India.
