Myanmar's military-led government says more than a thousand people have died after Friday's powerful earthquake. The 7.7 magnitude quake struck around midday - with its epicenter close to the city of Mandalay, followed by several aftershocks. Destructive tremors were also felt in neighboring Thailand.
