#hawaii Diamond Head State Monument is a hike and a bit of a living museum. The old battery is one of the coolest features of this hike. Make sure you make your reservations ahead of time. We also recommend you go early in the day as it gets very crowded as the day goes on! This is one of the top-rated things to do on a vacation to Hawaii, but this is one that it was actually really nice to go. It was a perfect hike for little kids. Not too long, not too hard. He re-enlisted, but this time we both agreed on the Army. But after being out so long, John had to go through Basic training again or OSUT. Six months of that followed by waiting for command sponsorship for our first OCONUS move and the family has been apart for 10 months. Crazy considering this wasn't a deployment. But we made it!
