A two day hike during the spring of 2025 to Rodgers Lakes, in Ansel Adams Wilderness. In the first day reached the lakes from Rush Creek Trailhead, and in the next day explored the upper cirque of the valley and climbed Peak 11,981 on the ridge, above Clinch Pass, which boasts a wonderful view all-around. Map: https://www.alltrails.com/explore/map... The weather was quite windy and changing in the first day: from moments of sunshine to periods of heavy snow. After a very cold night, the weather became sunny with moderate winds and excellent conditions, during the second day. The snow started with long patches right after Gem Lake. In the upper valley the snow was hard and solid, but quite variable and unpredictable in the forested areas, with portions of hard snow mixed with other regions of soft and deep snow, making the advancement quite slow. Crampons and ice axe were used. The bridge over Rush Creek, between Waugh Lake and PCT was taken down by the water, and I had to cross by foot - a bit difficult, but I found on the return trip a better crossing a bit downstream from the bridge. All in all, a quite wonderful tour.
