Here's how to perform a hard reset (factory reset) on your Samsung Galaxy S25, S25+ / S25 Ultra. A hard reset will erase all your data. Don’t forget to back up your files before starting. If your phone is frozen, unresponsive, or you're preparing to sell it, this guide will help you restore it to factory condition. Next, find a data cable (USB-C to USB-C or USB-A to USB-C) and connect one end to a computer and the other end to the S25. Step 2: Press and holding the side key (power button) and the Volume Down button simultaneously. Keep holding them for about 7-10 seconds, ignoring everything happening on the screen until the S25 powers down. Step 3: After the phone turns off, press the power button and Volume Up button simulataneously. Keep holding them for about 7-10 seconds, until the Samsung logo appears. Step 4: When the Samsung logo appears, release the side key, then keep pressing the Volume Up button. Once you're in the Recovery Mode menu, release the Volume Up button. Step 5: In recovery mode, use the volume up and down buttons to navigate through the options. Highlight the "Wipe Data/Factory Reset" option. Once the option is highlighted, use the side button to confirm your selection. Step 6: The device will prompt you to confirm the action. Confirm again to proceed, by selecting "Factory Data Reset". This will erase all the data on your device as well as the encrypted data on the SD card, if you've inserted one. Step 7: Wait for the process to complete. The hard reset process may take a while. Allow the device to complete the process. This will be confirmed by the notification "Data Wipe Complete" at the bottom left corner of the screen. Step 8: After the hard reset is complete, you can now restart your Samsung Galaxy S25. To do this, use the volume rockers to navigate through the menu until you get to "Reboot System Now". Select the option to reboot your Samsung Galaxy S25, using the side key. The device will restart to the 'Welcome' set up screen.
