Welcome back to the Judith Plains Montana Farm Timelapse. We begin the day by finishing the corn harvest and transporting the harvested grain directly to the drying chamber for processing. With the fields cleared, we shift our focus to transport logistics as we prepare to launch a new stage in production. Our goal is to purchase an ethanol production plant, so we start gathering the raw materials it will require. This includes both dried corn and regular corn, which we load into truck trailers and transport to the facility site. To boost our budget for the investment, we sell fresh vegetables from our greenhouses and bread from the bakery, generating enough funds to move forward with the purchase. Once the ethanol plant is ours, we identify another key ingredient for production—sorghum. Rather than waiting for the next sorghum growing season, we purchase a field with a fully ripe crop ready for harvest. Without delay, we transport our combine harvester and all the necessary harvesting equipment to the field. We begin the sorghum harvest immediately, delivering the crop straight to our newly acquired ethanol plant. To complete the production chain, we also purchase a full tank of propane and deliver it to the facility.
