Mediapark and Telecom Tower 🇳🇱 — Aerial 4K The Media Park is a business park in Hilversum where many television and radio productions are made. In addition, it houses many media supply companies. The former Omroepkwartier, later known as NOS (Dutch broadcasting company) site, now the Media Park, was designed by architect Jan van der Zee, just like the Hilversum television tower. The Omroeptoren or "Telecomtoren van Hilversum" is a radio transmission tower with transmission mast in Hilversum, on the north side of the Mediapark. The first 70-meter high steel broadcasting tower was built in 1958-1959 for TV broadcasts. The tower was the successor to the temporary television tower in Bussum, built in 1955. The studios in Bussum were then connected to the tower in Hilversum by coaxial cables. In 1973 the steel tower was replaced by the current concrete tower. The 142-metre-high tower was extended to 196 meters in 2001 with a steel truss mast. The increase was necessary for the introduction of digital television. In 2013, a large image of the logo of the TV program "Man bijt hond" ("Man bites the dog") was painted on the tower.
