US Route 1 Road Trip, Part 7: Northern Virginia - Washington to Richmond

Part 7 begins in the nation's capital, Washington, D.C. We visit the home to the US Congress at the Capitol Building (both fronts), the National Mall, and the Supreme Court. We subsequently depart Washington, crossing the 14th Street Bridge over the Potomac River and entering Arlington, Virginia. As we travel en route to the state capital, Richmond, we witness the vast urban sprawl of northern Virginia gradually dissipate, giving way to rolling hills and small farms.
