Monte Cristo Originated in 1910 in a Cafe in Paris. This was the original Grilled cheese starting with Greyer and lean slices of ham, crust less bread and fried in clarified butter. The Monte Cristo was made as a version of the Croque Monsieur. It was featured on the original menu at Blue Bayou at Disneyland 1967 and remains on their lunch menu to this day!
