NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED - (Vault 924-B 1965) Out of Los Angeles, this recording from December of 1965 is the flip-side of the first of three singles the group issued on the Vault label. Recorded at Hollywood's Gold Star Studio, the tune which was written by Ed Fournier of the L.A. surf band, The Challengers, would have a slight title change for the official release from 'Ev'ry Little Prayer' to 'Every Little Prayer'. Producer Richard Delvy, who was also in the group The Challengers as the drummer, utilized some of L.A.'s session players who are now known as The 'Wrecking Crew' on this recording to help beef up the sound. By August of 1966, The Ashes who consisted of Barbara 'Sandi' Robison, John Merrill, Alan Brackett, Spencer Dryden and Jim Cherniss would make a personnel change and morph into the group, The Peanut Butter Conspiracy. Dryden left to replace the drummer in Jefferson Airplane and new guitarist, Lance Baker Fent joined the group.
