Drunk 23-Year-Old Kicks a Cop and Resists Arrest

On February 21, 2025, the Farmington Police Department and the San Juan County Sheriff's Office were working a joint DUI checkpoint in Bloomfield, NM. At about 7:20 PM, a white Ford Focus approached the checkpoint. The driver was a 23-year-old woman. Sgt. Martinez introduced himself as Officer Strange approached the vehicle. The police report indicates that Officer Strange could immediately smell the odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. The woman was asked to shut off her engine and exit the vehicle. She was escorted to an area where Officer Strange attempted to question her. The woman denied consuming alcohol and refused to perform standardized field sobriety tests. She was then advised that she was under arrest for Driving While Under the Influence. As Officer Strange attempted to handcuff her, she put up a struggle and was taken down to the ground, where she allegedly kicked one of the officers. She was eventually handcuffed and was transported to the San Juan County Detention Center. Her charges and the outcome of her case are discussed at the end of the video.
