Towards detecting fingerprints of topological surface states in superconductor UTe2 and superfluids

Takeshi Mizushima (Osaka University). Takeshi discusses the challenges of identifying surface states in topological superconductors and superfluids. He discusses UTe2 and superfluid Helium-3 in this context. In the latter, he discusses how the observation of STM Normal-Superconducting and Superconducting-Supererconducting spectroscopy places strong constraints on the underlying pairing. By contrast, in superfluid He-3 the pairing symmetries are well-establishes, but the neutral surface states provide a special challenge to detection. Takeshi discusses the observation of surface states using micro-electromechanical oscillators (MEMS) to detect acoustic impedence.
