Thank you for watching! I learned this idea of reusing and repurposing old items and materials by adding some stitches from my mum (she still enjoys it too!). In Japan, fabric and thread used to be precious, so people tried to keep using them as long as possible before throwing them away. I was also taught not to throw away any fabrics which are larger than the size of a stamp! I think that's why I always try to find the ways to use scrap fabrics and thread. I also incorporated the idea of Kusakizome (Japanese natural plant dyeing) in the process to reuse food scraps. I found it really resonates with the book Slow Stitch by Claire Wellesley-Smith.
