Do's and Don'ts for Installing Dread Extensions

Open me for all the info! I’m often asked if dread extensions cause damage, and the answer is NO as long as they’re installed properly! So I made this video to explain what that means. I would like to reiterate the main takeaways of this video, though, which are: installing on wet hair is very likely to cause your hair to break (not to say it’ll happen to everyone, but it is a major risk). But if installing on dry hair is difficult for you or doesn’t look as good, consider using a product (preferably water-soluble) to help you with braiding (or install on dirty hair). Dread extensions are technically a protective hair style since the hair is in braids and isn’t brushed, touched, or exposed to heat tools! But installing on wet hair can throw all of that away. In my experience, using a product to help me install on dry hair has kept my hair safe, has kept my scalp comfortable, and has kept my installs looking really nice.
