Together we Rise was written by Hāwane Rios on a trip to Mauna Kea during the 2015 frontline stance. Included in the song is the chant Kū Kiaʻi Mauna written by Hāwane Rios, Pua Case, Kaleinohea Cleghorn and Kealiʻi Bertelmann as well as a tribute to spiritual elder, Hale Makua. This video is a compilation of photos taken by Kapulei Flores of the 2019-2020 stance on Mauna Kea. It depicts the unity and committment of the people of Hawaii and around the world who continue to stand for their mountains, waters, lands and lifeways. From the Puʻuhonua to the Wao akua, from last car to last car, from a parking lot to an acess road on a lava field. We remain committed to a collective purpose to safeguard Mauna Kea and halt the Thirty Meter Telescope Project from ever being built on our mountain. Now and Always, Together We Rise.
