Veerangana Durgavati Tiger Reserve has been approved as the 7th tiger reserve of Madhya Pradesh, covering areas across Sagar, Damoh, and Narsinghpur districts and including Nauradehi Wildlife Sanctuary and Durgavati Wildlife Sanctuary. Named after Rani Durgavati of the Gond tribe, the reserve lies within parts of the Narmada and Yamuna river basins and is characterized by dry deciduous forests with species like teak, dhora, and amla.
