Within the Police Force, divisions across the Norfolk Constabulary request the Roads Policing to assist with a variety of tasks, including the prevention of harm and saving lives by detecting traffic offences and then educate, advise and prosecute offenders, along with tackling crime throughout the road network. Roads Policing Constables use a variety of equipment, including their ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) cameras, providing intel on the subject vehicle. They also use other items such as radar guns and stingers, which are operated to cease the amount of road crimes committed. The Roads Policing Unit also work with other advanced drivers, as well as their colleagues and other divisions, to stop those performing and executing dangerous offences, which endanger the public and put themself, along with others and the public at risk.
